Welcome to This site provides a look at Gary J. Gates, a Business professional with extensive experience in identifying the problems and pain points of the organization, improving processes, and developing solutions to streamline the business and contribute to the bottom line.

Business Analyst

I am a business professional skilled at seeing the big picture, gathering requirements, documenting processes, evaluating information and reconciling conflicting viewpoints. I have extensive knowledge of the full software development life cycle (SDLC) and a solid understanding of the supply chain process including manufacturing, distribution, and logistics. I am experienced in both Waterfall and Agile project methodology, and has worked with the creation of custom applications as well as implementing off the shelf solutions. I’ve been involved in design, development, testing, functional and technical documentation, and support of end users including development of training programs. Possessing excellent communication skills, I am strong facilitator of Brainstorming and Joint Application Development (JAD) initiatives, and excellent at translating business needs into solid requirements and solutions

Business Process Experience

My diverse business experience gave him significant experience in Business Process Management (BPM), creating and re-engineering many business processes and managing these processes according to continuous improvement and lean principles. When he re-engineered the claims process at HomeDirectUSA, he re-configured the work flow, enhanced existing software and reports, established and measured key performance indicators that ultimately reduced claims processing time by more than 50% even as claim volume increased by 5%. Significant improvements were realized with his re-engineering of the Deluxing process, and the Refused Freight notification process. Additionally, Gary has been instrumental in creating processes that contributed to the improvement of customer service and the profitability of the organization. He is continuing his work with BPM in his current role, creating an interim process for customized report creation.
